Hall County a county unlike any other in Georgia, is often
referred to as "The Jewel of Northeast Georgia."
And after taking a look at the unique geographic, economic,
and natural characteristics of Hall County, it's easy
to see how it received
this name.
Located on the beautiful shores of Lake Sidney Lanier
and the Chattahoochee River, Hall County lies at the
foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. And while only
an hour from downtown Atlanta, Hall County maintains
its own identity as a regional center for shopping,
medical services, financial services, and educational
opportunities. Hall County's six incorporated municipalities
include Gainesville, Oakwood, Flowery Branch, Clermont,
Gillsville, and Lula.
Hall County residents enjoy a high quality of life
made possible by a support system of financial strength,
efficient public services, and abundant natural resources.
Within Hall County there are two public school systems,
five private schools, one college, one university, and
one vocational-technical school.
The
County is home to Lake Sidney Lanier, a 38,000-acre
lake built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The
607-mile shoreline provides recreational activities
for over 16 million visitors annually. Lake Lanier served
as the site for the 1996 Olympic Rowing, Canoe, and
Kayaking.
