2007 was record-setting year for Buford's Razey

BUFORD – To say that Ashley Razey was an integral part of the most successful fast-pitch softball team in Buford High School history is an understatement. The senior slugger shattered five single-season hitting records while helping lead the Lady Wolves to the 2007 State AA Championship.
Razey, who catches and plays third base, won the team’s triple crown and established new single-season standards at the plate for average (.510), homeruns (10) and runs batted in (47). The senior also set new marks for slugging percentage (.961) and on-base percentage (.598).
Additionally, the power-hitting infielder smacked 23 extra base hits among her 52 safeties. Razey racked up10 doubles and three triples and accumulated 98 total bases in just 102 at-bats. She struck out just nine times while drawing 22 walks.
Despite playing just two seasons at Buford, Razey also set new career marks in four hitting categories: average (.441), homers (16), slugging (.775) and on base percentage (.515).
The Lady Wolves went 62-17-1 during Razey’s tenure, including a record 33 wins this season.
A clutch hitter, Razey slugged a grand slam against GAC to help propel the Lady Wolves to the state final match-up against Berrien County.
Regarded as a Division I prospect, the 5’10” Razey looks to become just the seventh player in Buford fast-pitch history to play in the college ranks.
