Northeast Georgia ready for high school hoops

UNDATED - Ready or not, here comes the start of basketball season. While we still have two weeks left in high school football’s regular season, area basketball teams have begun practice, and Thursday marks the opening of tournament action in Northeast Georgia.
Heritage Christian tips it season on the opening day of November at the Forsyth Christian Invitational. By the end of next week, several other teams will have done the same, including Maranatha Christian Academy, Jubilee Christian and Westminster Christian.
Here’s a look at area teams and their respective start dates:
